Velaj garners her first adidas/NEC Player of the Week selection since the fourth week of competition as she continues her reign as the top offensive contributor for the Bobcats this season but on a different note than last season's 31 (15 goals, 1 assist) point performance. Not only does Velaj lead the team in goals (7) so far this year, but she also leads the team in assists (7). Velaj added to her tally in the Bobcats' first 2-0 weekend on the season, as she compiled one goal and four assists. In the game against Long Island on Oct. 16, Velaj assisted on the first two goals in the third and tenth minute of play, then gave QU the 3-0 boost in the 69th minute. Her goal was a hard shot across the goalmouth that ricocheted off an LIU defender into the net for the score. In the 4-2 victory against Wagner, Velaj dished out two more assists including a pass to senior Lindsay Oliveri for her first career goal.
