Earning her second weekly honor in as many weeks, DeLoreto notched her third straight top-five finish and was the first NEC runner to cross the line at the New England Championships on Oct. 10. The junior clocked in at 18:10 to take fifth place in a field of 327 harriers from 49 institutions en-route to receiving All-New England honors for the second time in her career since taking 22nd as a freshman in 2007. A native of Hillsdale, NJ, DeLoreto’s fifth-place performance marked the best-ever finish by a Pioneer in the race, besting the 12th-place effort of Katie Wrinkle recorded in 2003. Her time (18:10) is also a program-best on the 5K Franklin Park course in Boston, MA, topping the 18:14 recorded by Kathleen Henry in 2006. After redshirting last fall, DeLoreto now has four top-five finishes in her career.
