Ferrari captured her first collegiate title at the annual NJAIAW Championships. The Monmouth freshman posted four straight victories to win the NJAIAW Flight B singles crown. Her title run past some of the Garden State’s top talent began with a victory over Rutgers’ Kelly Fitzsimmons. Ferrari defeated Chelsa Upp of tournament host Drew in the quarterfinal round before taking down a pair of Princeton Tigers, the flight’s top-two seeds, in her two ensuing matches. The North Jersey product eased past Alex Epps, 6-1, 6-0, in a straight-set semifinal win and outlasted Kendra Simon in a come-from-behind victory, 3-6, 6-4, 6-2.
