Botes rebounded from her title match loss at the Eastern Championships by conquering the Bucknell Invitational’s Flight A bracket. The FDU sophomore won all three of her singles matches to claim her first tournament crown this season. After receiving a bye in the Round of 16, the top-seeded Botes defeated George Mason’s Kiersten Papas (6-2, 6-2) and Colgate’s Elise DeRose (6-0, 6-4) in straight sets. Botes downed the tournament’s No. 2 seed in the championship match, defeating Bucknell’s Tania Varela in a third-set super tie-breaker, 6-2, 4-6, 10-7. Teaming up with Julija Korshunova, Botes added a trio of doubles wins to her ledger in claiming the Flight A doubles crown, too.
