Skvarka posted a perfect record at the Bucknell Invitational to become the second Knight in three weeks to claim both the NEC Player and Rookie of the Week awards. The FDU freshman went 2-0 in singles play and posted a 3-0 doubles record with both marks coming against Flight A competition. Skvarka, seeded fourth, earned straight-set singles victories over Colgate’s Sean Spelburg and Bucknell’s Gregg Cohenca, but rain prevented the rookie from contesting his semifinal match against teammate Dom Hemy. Mother Nature was unable to stop Skvarka from capturing the Flight A doubles crown. Seeded No. 1, he and Marko Jemersic enjoyed a first-round bye before defeating opposing tandems from Colgate, Bucknell, and George Mason.
