After his first intercollegiate golf tournament, Thimble earns NEC Men’s Golfer of the Week for finishing just one stroke out of medalist position to lead Monmouth to a sixth place showing Monday afternoon at the Rehoboth Beach Fall Invite in Rehoboth Beach, DE. On the par 71, 6,480 yard course, Thimble (74-69=143) penciled a tournament second-round low 69, two-under par, to finish second overall in the competitive invitational. Thimble's second place finish marked the highest individual finish by a Hawks golfer since last fall. The newcomer also posted the highest finish by a freshman at MU since four-time all-NEC honoree, Anthony Campanile, earned several top finishes his rookie year in 2005.
