Sinisi was responsible for three touchdowns (two rush, one pass) while producing the Northeast Conference’s highest single-game rushing total this season in a 31-28 road victory over Old Dominion. The Walter Payton Award candidate rushed a career-high 41 times for 216 yards, 109 of which came as the Hawks held the ball for nearly 90 percent of the fourth quarter (13:14). Sinisi converted four third-down situations in the final quarter alone. The 200-pound tailback averaged 5.3 yards per carry for the game including a 6.4 ypc clip in the final 15:00. After rushing for a pair of first-half touchdowns, Sinisi erased a 21-17 third-quarter deficit by throwing a 24-yard touchdown strike to Bobby Giles. Sinisi, the NCAA’s active scoring leader (366 pts.), became only the second player in NEC history to exceed 4,000 career rushing yards (Rick Sarille, Wagner 1996-99 [4,460]).
