Cantor contested her first singles tournament at the collegiate level and the result was a resounding 4-0 record. Cantor conquered the Flight A bracket at the annual Quinnipiac Invitational. The first-year Bobcat began her title march by easing past Northeast Conference rival Sacred Heart’s No. 1 player, Kate Donnelly, 6-2, 6-1. The straight-sets victory was one of three on the weekend for Cantor. After battling past UConn’s Kelley LoRusso in an abbreviated third-set tiebreaker (6-7, 6-1, 10-2), Cantor defeated a pair of Cadets to secure the Flight A crown. She downed Army’s Paige Ford, 6-3, 6-0, in the semifinal round before having her way with West Point’s Annie Hang in the title match, 6-1, 6-2. Cantor picked up a pair of doubles wins, too, before falling in the top flight’s semifinal round.
