In his first collegiate event, Kipruto ran to a second-place finish at the Quinnipiac Invitational on Sept. 19. His time of 25:53.3 was just under one second behind the winner in a field of 117 harriers from 11 institutions - 10 of which were fellow NEC members. The freshman’s second-place showing was the best finish for a Blackbird in their 2009 campaign.
