Named the Princeton Invitational’s Most Valuable Player, Kinne helped MU to victories over Cornell and the hosting Tigers last weekend en-route to the tourney title. Kinne led the Hawks with six points on two goals and two assists, including the game-winning helper in the sixth minute of action in MU’s 1-0 triumph over Princeton on Sunday. Kinne's efforts helped the Hawks hand the Tigers their first loss of the 2009 campaign. The junior, who was named to the Hermann Trophy Watch List in mid-August, scored a career-high five points in the Blue and White’s 4-1 victory over the Big Red on Friday, contributing two tallies and one assist. Since tying for the team lead with 10 goals and leading the squad with six assists a season ago, Kinne matched the number of points he had coming into the match (five) with his output against Cornell. The Naugatuck, CT product and all-NEC performer paces the Conference with 11 points this season, including a league-high four goals. He is also in a four-way tie for the NEC-lead with a trio of assists. Kinne also earned a spot as one of 11 student-athletes named to the College Soccer News National Team of the Week, the website announced on Monday. On Tuesday, the junior was also named the ECAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts.
