Simic garners a NEC Player of the Week selection on the tails of a stellar weekend as the Blackbirds went 3-1. She averaged 6.12 kills and 4.25 digs per set, hit .248 and totaled five aces and four blocks. In a 3-0 sweep at Seton Hall on Sept. 8 the Serbia native tallied her second double-double with 19 kills and 14 digs while hitting .415 for the match. When Long Island hosted the Courtyard LaGuardia Volleyball Classic, Simic stepped up her game turning in double-doubles in each of the three matches. In a 3-2 victory over Colgate on Sept.11 she registered season highs of 29 kills and 26 digs to go along with a trio of aces. In the first of two Sept. 12 matches, a sweep of Siena, Simic amassed 22 kills and 10 digs and hit .391. In a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Georgia, she piled up 28 kills, 18 digs and two aces.
