The Akadema NEC Rookie of the Week award moves north up the Merritt Parkway to Quinnipiac after a two-week stint at Sacred Heart. Freshman shortstop Chris Migani went 8-of-19 (.421) in the leadoff spot and scored runs in four of Quinnipiac’s five games last week. The 5-foot-10 rookie logged three multi-hit performances on his way to a .500 on-base percentage. After going 1-for-3 with one walk and one run scored during a mid-week loss at Connecticut, Migani reached base nine times in 18 plate appearance against Fairleigh Dickinson. Migani hit .438 in helping Quinnipiac take three of four games from the NEC rival Knights. Migani was on base four times (two hits, two walks) during Quinnipiac’s 18-2 triumph over FDU in game three. He produced a three-hit, three-RBI performance in the series finale, an 8-4 Quinnipiac victory. His two-run single broke a 4-4 tie with two outs in the sixth inning.
