Simpkins gives Mount St. Mary’s its fourth Road Runner Sports Track Athlete award in the last five weeks. The sophomore sprinter, who follows in the footsteps of Mount’s three-time weekly award winner Lynnie DeCruise, posted a 200-400 double at the Bucknell Team Challenge that resulted in first and third place finishes. Simpkins won the 400-meter dash (56.76) and claimed bronze in the 200-meter race (24.70). The latter time moves her up to second on the NEC Performance List, a position she already held for the quarter-mile.
