Phillips scored a run in each of Sacred Heart’s four contests, three of which were victories, against NEC foe Long Island. As a result the freshman second baseman claimed the Akadema NEC Rookie of the Week award that his teammate Mike Olszyk won last week. Phillips batted .333 (6-for-18) over a five-game sample with all six base-knocks coming against the Blackbirds. The rookie infielder, who drove in seven runs on the week, enjoyed his biggest collegiate performance thus far in the series finale. Phillips went 3-for-5 with two doubles, six RBI, and a run scored in powering the Pios to a 13-9 win.
