Earning Monmouth’s third consecutive Road Runner Sports NEC Rookie of the Week award, and his second of the season, Rutherford took over the league lead in both the 110-meter and 400-meter hurdles by virtue of his performance at William & Mary’s Colonial Relays. He claimed the bronze medal for his work in the 400 intermediate hurdles (53.16) and finished seventh in the 110 high hurdles (14.77). Both of the first-year Monmouth Hawk’s times bested the IC4A Championship qualifying standard.
