Mikkelson becomes the third different Bobcat to capture the NEC Player of the Week award since the start of the spring championship season. The sophomore, who hails from Wisconsin, won a pair of singles matches to go along with two doubles victories last week. Mikkelson outlasted Fairfield’s Dan Sauter, 6-3, 6-7, 10-6, at No. 2 singles in an attempt to boost Quinnipiac to victory, but the Bobcats fell, 4-3, to their Nutmeg State rival. He passed a significantly less-stressful test against his No. 2 singles counterpart from Lafayette. Contributing to a 7-0 shutout of the ‘Pards, Mikkelson was practically perfect in downing Doug Gallagher. Both of his doubles victories also came in the No. 2 position where he partnered with James Kwei.
