DeCruise cut 23 hundredths of a second off her NEC-leading 100-meter time to move up the Mount’s all-time performance list and capture her second consecutive Road Runner Sports NEC Track Athlete of the Week award. Competing at the Maryland Invitational, the sophomore sprinter ran the best time (11.89) by a Mountaineer since 2005, and second-fastest in program history, to finish atop her heat in the preliminary round before claiming second in the final (12.07). Her performance, which improved her qualifying mark for the ECAC Championships, comes one week after DeCruise proved to be the fastest woman at the Wake Forest Open by logging the seventh-best 100-meter time (12.12) in Mount’s all-time annals.
