Lundy becomes the second Monmouth shot putter to claim the Road Runner Sports NEC Field Athlete award in the season’s first two weeks. Besting the mark of last week’s winner Christian Keller, Lundy surged to the top of the NEC performance list by putting the shot 17.40m at the Monmouth Season Opener. His winning throw well surpassed the qualifying standard (16.80m) for the NCAA East Region Championships. Lundy nearly qualified for the regional meet in the hammer throw, too, as his toss of 55.26m won the Monmouth Opener.
