Fitton become one of six NEC pitchers to toss a complete game this season when he shut down Maine for 9.0 innings during a 4-1 victory. The 6-foot-8 southpaw allowed only one run on four hits against a perennial contender in the America East Conference. Fitton allowed back-to-back doubles in the second inning when Maine scored its lone run, but surrendered only two hits in his final 7.0 frames of work. The sophomore lefty worked around leadoff walks in the fourth and fifth innings by retiring the next three batters in order during each of the frames.
