Timko went 7-for-18 at the UMBC Spring Classic last week, totaling seven RBI, three home runs, a double and three singles. In a back-and-forth battle with the hosting Retrievers, the shortstop clocked a solo homer to give RMU a 4-3 edge in the top of the seventh before UMBC would go on to capture the W by a score of 5-4. In a non-conference match-up against Saint Francis (PA), Timko went 2-for-3 with a pair of dingers and helped account for six of RMU’s eight runs. Earlier in the week the Colonials contested intrastate rival Pittsburgh where the short stop tallied RMU’s lone run in the first-of-two games by means of a long ball in the bottom of the third.
