Helping the Hawks win all four contests last week was deLong as she batted .583 (7-for-12) with three triples, two round trippers and four RBI. The sophomore recorded a 1.583 slugging percentage and was a perfect 3-for-3 in stolen base attempts. deLong drove in the contest’s lone run with a triple in MU’s 1-0 game-one win over Penn on Mar. 21, and followed that performance by crossing the plate to log the game winner in the second go-around with the Quakers. A native of Rothschild, WI and a two-time NEC Rookie of the Week last season, deLong tacked on two homers and another triple while going 5-for-7 in MU’s sweep of Columbia on Mar. 22. So far this season, the outfielder/catcher holds the Hawks' top batting average (.474) and on base percentage (.487), along with the most home runs (five) and RBI (16). The award is the first of the season for deLong after she captured NEC Rookie of the Week accolades twice a year ago.
