Perez improved her All-America candidacy by exceeding the 200-pin mark in 11 of the 13 games she bowled at the ECAC Championships. The FDU junior claimed the ECAC Team Tournament Most Valuable Performer for her top-ranked individual average (221.5), which helped the Knights to a runner-up team finish. Perez produced a 1329 pinfall over six traditional team matches, all FDU victories. She bowled a team-high score in four of the six wins, including a 236 against Coppin State and a weekend-high of 259 against Norfolk State. The junior right hander, who filled 93 percent of her frames during team play, contributed a 215 game in a victory over No. 5 Delaware State. She remained stellar in team baker play, too, particularly in a triumph over Kutztown. Perez’s three strikes to end game three of a four-game baker set with the Bears cut FDU’s deficit to single digits and put the Knights in position to claim victory in game four. In Friday’s individual ECAC singles championship, Perez produced a 221.6 average on a total pinfall of 1551 over seven games to advance all the way through to the title match.
