Babic picks up her third Northeast Conference accolade of her junior year, adding the NEC Player of the Month (February) award to her two weekly honors from the fall season. The junior Blackbird won two of three No. 1 singles matches to begin the championship spring season. In her first action of the new semester, Babic did not suffer a single break against Albany’s Susan Ma on her way to a 6-0, 6-0 victory. LIU’s top player then took down Massachusetts’ No. 1 racket, Candyce Boney, in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. Babic’s lone singles loss since October came in a third-set super tiebreaker to Columbia’s Stephanie Zilberman.
