Porter, the reigning NEC Pitcher of the Year and Tournament MVP, picked up right where she left off as the junior hurler pitched two gems at the Cathedral City Classic in Palm Springs, CA and recorded a save against #12 Northwestern last weekend. Porter retired five of the six batters she faced to hold off the Wildcats and help LIU earn an 11-6 victory. Against Cal State Fullerton, Porter threw seven innings that saw just four hits to go along with six strikeouts, which moved her into the top spot on LIU’s all-time strikeout list (416). The Redmond, WA native also sat down nine batters on strikes in a complete-game effort in a win against UNLV.
