Buck broke out in a big way at the inaugural Kutztown Invitational by posting the eight-best individual average (194.3) of 154 bowlers. Having never registered a score higher than 170 during her young collegiate career until this past weekend, Buck led the host Bears to a 5-1 record in the traditional team play portion of the three-day tournament. She totaled a pinfall of 1116 over a six-game span that included victories over two NTCA Top-20 teams. The Kutztown freshman rolled a score of 199 in 972-899 victory over No. 5 Delaware State, the eventual tournament champion, before knocking down 194 pins in a 52-pin victory over No. 14 Morgan State. Buck exceeded the 200 mark for the first time in her career by notching a team-high score of 211 in a close 33-pin triumph over Norfolk State. Buck is the second Kutztown bowler to claim NEC Rookie of the Week honors, joining Kayla Jones who won the award four times in the season’s first six weeks.
