Gaines adds a second straight Road Runner Sports NEC Women’s Rookie of the Week award to a quickly-expanding resume that includes ECAC qualifying marks in both the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash. Gaines surpassed the ECAC standard in the formerly-mentioned event at this past weekend’s NYC Gotham Cup. In addition to posting the NEC’s top 60-meter hurdles time (8.64), the rookie Blackbird posted a pair of top-10 finishes in the meet’s horizontal jumping events. Gaines triple jumped 11.30m to take sixth and long jumped 5.41m to finish ninth.
