Taylor owns one of the top shooting samples in the Northeast Conference since Christmas as she rings in the New Year with her first career Choice Hotels NEC Rookie of the Week award, the Pioneers’ first since Alisa Apo won her last (Jan. 13, 2007) of four in the 2006-07 campaign. The freshman forward’s 22-of-41 (.536) shooting clip yielded a 13.5 points-per-game average over a four-game stretch that included two road NEC victories. On her way to averaging 5.3 rebounds per contest, Taylor closed the week by tallying a double-double (15 pts., 11 reb.) while shooting 7-of-11 from the floor in a 66-56 win at league rival Long Island. The Kansas native began the four-game stretch by tallying 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting and four boards at Big East member Villanova.
