Elardo captures back-to-back Road Runner Sports NEC Field Athlete of the Week awards on the heels of another strong showing in the shot put. A week after opening his indoor season by hitting a NEC-best shot mark (16.29m) at Princeton’s New Year Invitational, Elardo once again exceeded 16.00 meters to win the Brother Jasper Invitational hosted by Manhattan. The second-year Hawk put the shot 16.03m (52-7.25) to win the Jasper title that was last held by three-time NCAA Indoor All-American Milan Jotanovic (Manhattan).
