Palmer is becoming quite comfortable in occupying the NEC Rookie of the Week post. Claiming the honor for the third consecutive week, Palmer averaged 18.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per contest as the Blackbirds hosted their annual LIU Turkey Classic. The freshman forward, who tallied double-doubles in both games this past week, supplied 22 points, 11 rebounds, five steals, and four assists to power Long Island past New Hampshire and into the Turkey Classic title game. Facing Kentucky for the tournament crown, Palmer welcomed the SEC member to Brooklyn with a double-double of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Despite her efforts, the Blackbirds could not hang on the a late lead and fell, 46-43. The Long Island rookie has recorded double-doubles in five of her first six collegiate contests.
