Sinisi put an exclamation point on a remarkable, record-breaking season for the Walter Payton Award candidate. The nation’s second-leading rusher carried 23 times for 174 yards and three touchdowns in lifting Monmouth to a 37-14 victory over Duquesne. After scoring on runs of one and 33 yards to help Monmouth build a 30-14 lead heading into the final quarter, Sinisi plunged into the end zone from one yard out with 13:56 remaining to cap the scoring and overtake another Monmouth single-season record. A week after claiming full ownership of the NEC’s all-time points mark, Sinisi registered his 22nd touchdown this season to surpass former Hawks’ record holder Chris Reed (1998).
