Jones captures the first-ever NEC Bowler of the Week award bestowed by the conference office in its inaugural season of women’s bowling. The Kutztown freshman posted both the highest average and best game of any NEC bowler to compete at the FDU Fright Knight Invite, which welcomed a number of the nation’s top programs. Posting a 221.20 average (1106 total pinfall) over five traditional team games, Jones finished fourth in the tournament’s overall individual rankings. The rookie was not fazed by premium competition, stepping up to bowl a tournament-high 275 against former National Champion Vanderbilt, the nation’s second-ranked team. Jones knocked down 225 pins against defending NCAA Champ Maryland-Eastern Shore, one of three 225+ performances she posted in five games. Anchoring the Bears in the fifth spot, Jones was key in helping Kutztown to two Baker victories over No. 1 UMES that earned her team fifth place (12 teams).
