Bennett’s eight kills and 15 digs against Long Island helped the Colonials defeat the Blackbirds for the first time since 2004. The setter hit a team-best .350 and added 25 assists, one ace and one block in the 3-1 victory that snapped LIU’s 35-match Northeast Conference win streak. Bennett’s performance in RMU’s lone match of the week earned her the fourth NEC Rookie of the Week honor of her 2008 campaign, as her 9.05 assists per game lead the squad and place her third in the league.
