Part of a terrific freshman class, Patrick scored twice and added an assist in the Mount’s 1-1 week. Patrick accounted for all the scoring in a 2-0 win over Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday that briefly lifted the Mountaineers into first place. Coming off the bench for the first time this season, he redirected a header from Will Thomas into the netting for his fourth goal of the season in the 42nd minute. In the 64th minute, Vinnie Berry sent a free kick to Patrick, who buried the ball into the top right corner of the twine. Patrick also helped spark a second half comeback in a 3-2 loss to Sacred Heart on Sunday. After falling behind by three goals, the Mount cut the lead to two in the 58th minute. With just over a minute remaining in regulation, Patrick lifted a cross to Steve Pathroff, who made it a one-goal affair. A Hershey, PA native, Patrick currently ranks third on the Mount in goals (five), assists (four) and points (14). Among NEC freshman, he is second on the circuit in points, third in goals and fourth in assists. Currently one point out of first place, Mount St. Mary’s will attempt to lock up its first NEC playoff berth since 2000 when it closes out regular season play this week.
