Gannon’s two key second-half kickoff returns set up a pair of Albany scoring drives and swung the momentum in the Great Danes’ favor as they stormed back from a 14-0 halftime deficit. The junior tailback totaled 136 all-purpose yards, 122 on four kickoff returns. Gannon brought the opening kickoff of the second half back 37 yards to give Albany a drive start one year shy of midfield. After Monmouth jumped back in front, 17-14, on a Fred Weingart field goal, Gannon struck again. His 51-yard return on the ensuing kickoff set up the Great Danes at Monmouth’s 31-yard line.
