McCarty extended his touchdown streak to 17 games in powering Albany to its 11th consecutive victory over NEC competition. The junior tailback has been practically upstoppable during that span as was the case during the second half of the Great Danes’ 35-17 comeback victory over Monmouth that allowed the defending champions to claim sole possession of first place. McCarty rushed for 185 of his 208 yards in the second half to erase Albany’s 14-0 halftime deficit. Carrying the ball 31 times, McCarty eclipsed the 200-yard rushing mark for the fourth time in his last six NEC games. The preseason all-NEC back, who has rushed for more than 100 yards in 14 of his last 15 outings, averaged 6.7 yards per carry against the Hawks and totaled 10 yards on two catches.
