Friedman twice revived a late second-quarter scoring drive that trimmed Duquesne’s once 17-point lead to two heading into halftime. With the Pioneers facing a fourth-and-two in punt formation, Friedman successfully executed a fake punt by taking the direct snap and rumbling eight yards for a first down. When the drive stalled at Duquesne’s 13-yard line, Friedman turned what appeared to be a field goal attempt into a touchdown. Holder, and starting quarterback, Dale Fink faked the field goal and found the junior fullback wide open for the score. In addition to his eight-yard run and 13-yard touchdown catch out of kicking formations, Friedman made two tackles on special teams.
