Velaj, who currently leads the league with 31 points on 15 goals and one assist, picks up her fourth NEC weekly award of 2008 after a seven-point weekend. The rookie tallied two scores and an assist - her first of the season - as the Bobcats topped Fairleigh Dickinson on Oct. 24 and followed that performance with another goal against Sacred Heart on Oct. 26. At the beginning of the week, Velaj ranked 16th in the nation in points per game (2.00 ppg) and ninth in goals per game (1.00 gpg). The award marks the third Brine/NEC Rookie of the Week honor for Velaj and is also her fourth overall this season.
