In the midst of one of the hottest scoring streaks in recent NEC memory, Malijani scored two goals and added an assist in the Knights’ 1-0-1 week. The native of Lusaka, Zambia converted the game-winner on a penalty kick in the 20th minute, and was credited with an assist when his corner kick was headed in by Chris Faraone in the 82nd minute of a 2-0 triumph at Quinnipiac on Friday. He also scored the game-tying goal versus CCSU in the 74th minute on Sunday after scooping up a deflection and beating the Blue Devil keeper one-on-one. Malijani has now scored in eight straight matches - the longest streak in the NEC in at least six years - and has all nine of his goals on the year in that span, including six of the FDU’s last seven markers. Malijani leads the Knights - who are unbeaten in their last five matches (3-0-2) - and ranks second in the NEC with nine goals and 21 points. In last week’s NCAA rankings, he was 19th in goals per game and 22nd in points per game. Malijani has also boosted his career totals to 26 goals, nine assists and 61 points in two-plus seasons with the Knights.
