Washer becomes the first Monmouth woman to win the NEC Player of the Week award in three years since teammate Sarah Ragan earned the honor (Oct. 25, 2005). The junior went 4-0 this past weekend to capture the Flight D title at the NJAIAW Championships hosted by Drew. Washer used victories over Drew’s Rebecca Olderman and Ramapo’s Maddy Albright to reach the semifinal round where she sent teammate Kristen Hoffman to a 6-4, 6-1 defeat. As was the case in prior rounds, Washer had little difficulty in beating Ramapo’s Nicole Lapsley, 6-4, 6-0, to clinch the title.
