Caneen had a breakout weekend offensively as she helped the Blue Devils to a pair of Northeast Conference wins. The junior forward, who led CCSU in scoring a year ago, had a four-goal weekend as the Blue Devils moved to 3-1 in NEC play and 6-4-4 overall. Caneen registered her first career hat trick as CCSU posted a season-high 4-0 victory over Mount St. Mary’s on Oct. 10. The Stafford Springs, CT native also scored the first goal against Monmouth on Oct. 12 as the Blue devils proceeded to earn a hard-fought 3-2 win over the Hawks, who were previously unbeaten in nine games. Caneen now leads the team in scoring with 13 points on six goals and one assist, good for a tie for third in the league. The award marks the first for Caneen since she garnered Brine/NEC Rookie of the Week accolades in the 2006 season.
