Sallhag continues to serve as the offensive catalyst for the NEC’s hottest team as the Terriers made it seven straight victories with a 2-1 win over Central Connecticut State on Friday, followed by a 2-1 conquest of Quinnipiac on Sunday. Sallhag scored both goals for St. Francis (NY) in its league opener against the Blue Devils, including the game-winner with just 32 seconds left on the clock. The Vaxjo, Sweden native took a feed from Semso Nikocevic on a counter attack and chipped the ball in for his sixth goal of the year and third game-winner. Sallhag opened the scoring just 2:07 into the match, converting a cross from Jeverton De Lorenzi. With the Terriers trailing by one against Quinnipiac on Sunday, he sent a feed to De Lorenzi who scored on a one-timer to even the score in the 56th minute. It was Sallhag’s team-best fourth assist of the season, which ties him for third in the NEC. The 2007 NEC Rookie of the Year also ranks fourth on the circuit in points (18) and seventh in goals (six). The Terriers’ seven-game win streak is the longest by an NEC team since Fairleigh Dickinson won ten in a row in 2002.
