Rush helped set the tone for Central Connecticut State’s 28-10 road victory over defending MEAC champion Delaware State. The sophomore defensive back tallied three tackles and a pass break-up on defense, but he made his biggest impact on special teams. After the two sides fought through a scoreless opening quarter, Rush set up the game’s first touchdown by blocking a punt on Delaware State’s first possession on the second quarter. With the Hornets punting from their own 26-yard line, Rush stuffed the kick to hand his offense a first-and-goal situation at the opponent’s one-yard line.
