Klukowski, a three-time all-NEC honoree who was recently tabbed to the Hermann Trophy Watch List, sparked the defending NEC champion Blue Devils to a pair of shutout victories last week. In CCSU’s season opener on Tuesday, he fired a game-high four shots in a 1-0 win over a Holy Cross team fresh off a victory over then #13 UMass, which reached the NCAA Final Four a year ago. On Friday, Klukowski recorded his first career hat trick in a 4-0 triumph over St. Bonaventure. All three goals came in the second half, beginning with a direct kick from outside the box to break a scoreless deadlock in the 67th minute. The Wiltshire, England native struck again in the 74th minute, scoring on an indirect kick off a set piece. Just five minutes later, he added an insurance tally, converting a long through ball from Mersad Sahanic. In Klukowski’s three-plus years in New Britain, he has tallied 19 goals and 22 assists. For his performance, Klukowski was tabbed to College Soccer News National Team of the Week.
