Epps upped his batting average to .315 this season with a 6-for-12 clip (.500) at the plate during Central Connecticut State’s rain-shortened three-game set with Fairleigh Dickinson. Playing as both a DH and first baseman during the weekend, the rookie Blue Devil drove in three runs, scored three runs, and notched three extra-base hits, including his team-leading fourth roundtripper. Epps was the only Blue Devil to experience any type of significant sucess against NEC Pitcher of the Week John O’Hara. Responsible for two of the team’s four hits against the FDU southpaw, Epps provided the only CCSU run of the game with a fourth-inning solo shot to right-center.
