Delaney was a near-impossible out for opposing pitchers this past weekend during Quinnipiac’s series victory over intra-state rival Sacred Heart, posting a .650 on-base percentage and batting at a .625 clip. In helping the Bobcats keep their Northeast Conference Tournament hopes alive, Delaney went 10-of-16 at the plate with five doubles, a triple, two walks, seven RBI, and eights runs scored. After translating a ninth-inning hit by pitch into the game-winning run of a 3-2, series-opening victory, Delaney tore the cover off the ball in game two. Powering the Quinnipiac offense to a 22-run output, Delaney collected four hits, all doubles, a sac fly, four runs, and five RBI during the second half of Saturday’s double dip. The right-handed slugging third baseman went 6-for-10 at the plate during Sunday’s twin bill, pounding out three hits in each of the contests to up his team-leading total to 56.
