Fitton proved potent at both the plate and on the bump in helping Sacred Heart to a four-game sweep of NEC rival Fairleigh Dickinson. The towering rookie right-hander tossed seven innings of four-run ball to earn the decision in Sunday’s 8-6 triumph. Even more impressive at the plate, Fitton batted .333 (6-for-18) while blasting his first three collegiate home runs, driving in eight runs, and scoring eight times. His first long ball came in the sixth inning of Friday’s 11-10 victory, which set the stage for a two-homer day on Saturday. With the first half of Saturday’s doubleheader deadlocked at 6-6 in the top of the eighth, Fitton delivered a three-run bomb to left field that provided the final margin.
