Locke, the defending NEC shot put champion, guaranteed herself a trip to the NCAA East Region Championships by putting the shot 14.76m (48’ 5.25"), the winning mark at the Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Championships. The senior thrower’s most recent performance breaks her own program record and currently ranks second on the 2008 NEC Performance List, five centimeters short of Saint Francis’ (PA) Diane Gmiter’s mark. Locke also scored team points in the discus, hammer, and javelin to help Sacred Heart capture its 11th consecutive CTC team title.
