Earning Akadema/NEC Rookie of the Week honors is Monmouth’s Emily deLong, who helped the Hawks to a 5-1 record on the week. The Rothschild, WI native enjoyed her best week as a member of the Hawks, hitting .500 with a home run, two doubles, a triple, seven RBIs and five runs scored. The freshman, who also recorded a pair of stolen bases, went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored in the Hawks 10-1 win over Northeast Conference rival Mount St. Mary’s. Finishing the week strong, deLong went 3-for-8 in the Hawks’ doubleheader with Rider, smacking a double and a triple, with four RBI and a run scored in Monmouth’s 7-2 game one win.
