Catanese was both an offensive and defensive force in helping Mount St. Mary’s to back-to-back victories this past week which ran its win streak to four. The junior midfielder tallied 14 points on 11 goals and three assists while securing eight draw controls, collecting eight ground balls, and causing three turnovers. The junior mid-fielder turned in a six-goal effort in a 17-8 conference victory over Wagner, putting all 11 of her shots on goal. What ensued was an all-around stellar performance in a 15-9 triumph at Villanova. Making an impact all over the field, she netted five goals and assisted on three others while totaling six draw control wins, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. The junior middie helped Mount rally from an early 3-1 deficit with two first-half goals before scoring thrice during a 7-1 Mountaineers’ second-half spurt that resulted in a 13-7 advantage with just under nine minutes remianing. Her first goal against the Wildcats made her the second player in Mount’s program history to notch back-to-back 50-goal seasons. Catanese currently leads the NEC in goals (54) and points (61).
