Edmond’s first 100-meter race at the collegiate level resulted in a ticket to the IC4A Championships. The rookie sprinter clocked in at 10.70s to place fourth in a 41-entrant field at the Coastal Carolina Shamrock Invitational. His IC4A-qualifying time stands as the best produced by any NEC sprinter during the first two weeks of the 2008 outdoor season.
